Early evening and occasional weekend work is a requirement of this position. The hours are 25 per week with club hours typically taking place Monday - Friday.
The starting wage for this position is $29.46.

The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting in a wide variety of tasks related to the Red Deer and District FCSS funded program Penhold Youth Club (PYC). The hours are 6 per week, must be available Wednesdays and Fridays from 3:00-6:00 p.m.
Duties will include, but are not limited to: The Youth Leader will be responsible for supporting the Youth Coordinator with planning and implementing group activities for PYC. This is an important role in the development of our youth social capital within our community and surrounding area. This program aims to improve the quality of life for our residents between ages 9-18. The Youth Leader will be required to plan and introduce a variety of activities, not limited to, art, recreation, cultural, and interactive games, which encourage positive youth development, and strong leadership. The goal of PYC is to provide a safe place for youth during critical hours to promote a sense of belonging, create community connections and develop positive healthy skills. |

Reporting to the Fire and Protective Services Manager, the successful candidate will work collaboratively within a supportive team environment while playing a key role in maintaining public safety and protecting municipal property. The Community Peace Officers (CPO’s) are responsible for enhancing community safety, compliance, and well-being through proactive patrol, bylaw enforcement, traffic safety initiatives, education, and collaborative problem-solving. The CPO’s support residents, businesses, and municipal partners by applying provincial legislation and municipal bylaws in a professional, fair, and service-orientated manner. This role emphasizes visible presence, relationship-based enforcement, conflict resolution, and public education, aligned with Alberta’s modern community peace officer model. |
