TOWN OF PENHOLD BYLAW NO. 805/2021

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

Bylaw No. 805/2021 proposes to amend the Town’s Land Use Bylaw by changing the current designation on parts of the SE 1-37-28-4 from Urban Reserve District (UR) to Highway Commercial District (C2) and Public And Institutional District (PI). The areas proposed for change are shown as hatched on the drawing below. The C2 designation would allow the development of a variety of commercial uses such as restaurants, service stations, car washes and convenience stores. The PI designation would allow for the development parks and trail connections based on the Oxford Landing Outline Plan.

 PUBLIC INPUT

A Public Hearing for this bylaw will be held Tuesday, October 12, 2021 at 6:00pm in Council Chambers at the Town Office (#1 Waskasoo Avenue, Penhold Regional Multiplex, 2nd Floor, Penhold, AB). The style of the hearing will be informal and persons wishing to speak will be requested to state their name and address for the record upon being recognized by the Chair. Council will hear submissions made in person or by the agent from any person who claims to be affected by the proposed bylaw. Any person wishing to submit written comments may do so by sending them to Parkland Community Planning Services, at the address below, prior to 4:00pm on October 6, 2021. Persons may make presentations at the Council meeting, regardless of whether or not they have provided written comments.

TOWN OF PENHOLD BYLAW NO. 805/2021

Being a Bylaw with the purpose to amend the Land Use Bylaw 757/2018 for the Town of Penhold in the Province of Alberta.

WHEREAS: The Municipal Government Act, as amended, authorizes the Council of a Municipality to enact a Land Use Bylaw to regulate and control the use and development of land and buildings within the Municipality; and

WHEREAS:The Council of the Town of Penhold deems it necessary and expedient to amend Land Use Bylaw No. 757/2018 

NOW THEREFORE, Council of the Town of Penhold duly assembled enacts as follows:

1. Schedule A Land Use District Map is amended by CHANGING the designation of a portion of the SE 1-37-28-4 from “Urban Reserve District (UR)” to “Highway Commercial District (C2)” as shown in the attached Schedule A of this bylaw.

2. Schedule A Land Use District Map is amended by CHANGING the designation of a portion of the SE 1-37-28-4 from “Urban Reserve District (UR)” to “Public And Institutional District (PI)” as shown in the attached Schedule A of this bylaw
