
Penhold & District Museum Society works to maintain and develop the Penhold & District Museum and has something for all ages to enjoy. Located on HWY 2A on the South end of Penhold – look for the train caboose!
The Museum Society holds several annual events in Penhold, including a Christmas market and Cookie Walk. During the summer months the Penhold & District Museum is also home to the Museum Ice Cream Shack & 9 hole Mini-Golf which operates during the summer months (June - September).

Rental Information
The Penhold & District Museum Society strives to preserve the local history of Penhold and surrounding area.
Our volunteers try to provide a place for learning and community connections. The Museum contains artifacts donated from local pioneer families and community groups, and we ask that great care be taken to ensure that these items, and our facility, are treated with respect, so that we may continue to tell the Story of early Penhold to future generations.
Rental Rate: $25/hr Deposit: $50 which will be returned after a clean walk through inspection after the event with a Museum Board Member.
Clean up Requirements:
- Sweep and Mop floor
- Wipe down kitchen counters & tables if used
- Shut off all lights including bathroom
- Please do not touch thermostat and leave furnace room door open
- All garbage must be taken with you
Failure to comply, will result with a $25/hr cleaning fee charge or surrender of the deposit fee, at the discretion of the Museum member.
Mini Golf
Penhold’s newest attraction offers affordable fun for all ages!
Try your luck on the links, challenge your family & friends. The Museum Ice Cream Shack & 9 hole Mini-Golf operates Tuesday - Wednesday -Thursday from 6:00-8:00 p.m. during the summer months. Ice Cream is $2/scoop and Mini Golf is $3/person.
Don’t forget, whoever sinks a hole in 1 gets to ring the bell!
Bringing mini-golf to Penhold was made possible through donations from local businesses & community groups, we thank them for supporting the Museum and being community builders!
Ice Cream Shack
All this learning can work up an appetite….. Don’t forget to grab a $2 ice-cream at the Museum’s very own Ice-Cream Shack. Our volunteers have been serving up smiles since 2009!

Caboose
If riding the rails is more your thing, hop aboard our 1947 Canadian Pacific Caboose, and have a look out of the cupola. Or pretend you are riding the Polar Express, either way this will be sure to bring out your inner conductor.

From general assistance around the museum to workers for the ice cream shack and mini golf, there's many different opportunities for volunteers. If you are interested in volunteering for a reason, or for a season, we would love to hear from you.
Museum Building Info
Take a step back in time with a tour of our 1934 one room schoolhouse. Inside tells the story of our pioneer families, the Penhold 7 Airbase, and local community groups who helped shape the wonderful town that is Penhold!
