Drop-in Activities
The Penhold Fitness Centre offers different drop-in activities, primarily Drop-in Basketball, Drop-in Pickleball, and Drop-in Kid’s Gym. Depending on ice availability we also offer Drop-in Skating and Drop-in Hockey. Drop-in fees vary depending on the drop-in activity.
Please check the Recreation calendar to confirm the dates & times of Drop-In activities as dates may change, or be cancelled, for a variety of reasons.
Drop-In Kid's Gym
Drop-in Kid’s Gym
Drop-in Kid’s gym operates from September to June on Monday and Thursday of every week. Monday drop-in runs 10:00-11:30 a.m. and Thursday drop-in runs 9:30-11:00 a.m. This drop-in is intended for kids under the age of 5 and is parent/guardian supervised.
The fee associated for this drop-in is as follows: $2 for the first child and $1 for every child after. Punch cards are available for purchase.
Kid’s Gym has a zero sick policy, please do not attend if anyone in the household is feeling unwell. Active parent/caregiver supervision is an expectation of this drop-in time.

Drop-In Pickleball
Drop-in Pickleball
Penhold offers drop-in Pickleball times on Tuesday, 10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. and Thursday 12:30-2:30 p.m. (Seniors), and Sunday evenings 4:00-7:00 p.m. (all ages, all levels). We set up the nets and can provide paddles and pickleballs. Use of these items are on a first come first serve basis, so to be sure you can play please bring your own equipment. 3-6 courts available depending on gymnasium bookings.
Fees:
- Tuesday and Thursday (55+) $3 per person *During 55+ Pickleball only
- Sunday $5 per person regardless of age

Drop-In Badminton
Drop-in Badminton
Drop-in badminton is offered twice time per week for one to two hours. Please check the calendar below for current dates & times.
Whether you are wanting to play a pick-up game with friends or family or just want to work on your skills these drop-in times are for everyone. Fitness staff monitor these drop-in times any monopolizing of the courts by any group is not allowed. Participants 8 and under must be directly supervised by someone 16 years of age or older.
Fees:
- Under 18 years old $2/person
- Adults 18 & over $3/person

Drop-In Basketball

Drop-in basketball is offered one time per week for one to two hours. Please check the calendar below for current dates & times.
Whether you are wanting to play a pick-up game with friends or family or just want to shoot around these drop-in times are for everyone. Fitness staff monitor these drop-in times any monopolizing of the courts by any group is not allowed. Participants 8 and under must be directly supervised by someone 16 years of age or older.

Drop-In Skating
Drop-in Skating
This program is intended for all ages. There are no sticks and pucks during this time, helmets are required for anyone under 16 years of age. The fee for this drop-in is $5 per family, you can pay this fee upstairs at the Fitness Centre before going down to the arena.
Please note that Drop-in Skating is different from Free Public Skate that runs October to March on Sundays.

Drop-In Hockey
Drop-in Hockey
Drop-in Hockey is intended for 16+, helmets are required. Please call ahead of time if you would like to give permission for a child under 16 years old to participate. Participants must pay $5 fee at the Fitness Centre upon arrival before heading down to the arena.
Drop-in Hockey has a zero sick policy, please do not attend if you are feeling unwell.

Drop-In Hockey FAQ
- Do we supply equipment? No all participants must bring their own equipment.
- What is the minimum equipment required? Participants need a helmet, skates, hockey gloves and a stick. Other equipment is also permitted at participant discretion.
- Will teams be made up? The Fitness Centre will not divide teams for the participants, that is up to the participants themselves.
- Where do they get dressed? A dressing room will be assigned to drop-in hockey and will be visible on the tv monitor entering the arena.
- Where do we pay? Participants must pay their $5 drop-in fee at the Fitness Centre before going on the ice.
