TOWN OF PENHOLD BYLAW NO. 843/2026
NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
Bylaw No. 843/2026 proposes to amend the Town’s Land Use Bylaw by changing the current designation as per Bylaw 837/2025. Currently, the areas proposed for change are as follows:
Parcel “A” formerly identified as Urban Reserve (UR) Municipal Reserve, Public Utility Lot (MR/PUL) north of highway #42 and west of the current Commercial Highway (CH) parcel to include the current Public Utility Lot (PUL) on the west side
Parcel “B” north of the current Oxford Boulevard west of Waskasoo Avenue identified in part currently as Residential Manufactured Homes (RIM).
The proposed Bylaw changes for Parcels A & B would be:
PARCEL A: A subdivision and rezoning process associated with the adjacent lands to the west of the Suds Car Wash commercial development is underway and would see the parcel zoned R1/R1N and R2/MR.
PARCEL B: A further rezoning to occur on the north side of the current Oxford Blvd Road, currently zoned R5, to allow R3 townhomes, R2 Duplexes and a green setback area from the active well head identified as Municipal Reserve.
The areas proposed for change are shown as hatched on the drawing below.
A copy of the unapproved amending Land Use Bylaw No. 843/2026, the proposed updated version of the Oxford Landing Outline Plan - Amended 2019 and the Land Use Bylaw can be viewed at the Town of Penhold Office and on the Town website (www.townofpenhold.ca).
PUBLIC INPUT
A Public Hearing for this bylaw will be held Monday, April 13, 2026 at 6:00 p.m. in Council Chambers at the Town Office (1 Waskasoo Avenue, Penhold Regional Multiplex, 2nd Floor, Penhold, AB). The style of the hearing will be informal and people wishing to speak will be requested to state their name and address for the record upon being recognized by the Chair.
Council will hear submissions made in person or by the agent from any person who claims to be affected by the proposed bylaw. Any person wishing to submit written comments may do so by sending them to the Town Office, Attn: Development, at the address below, prior to 4:00pm on April 7, 2026. People may make oral presentations at the Council meeting, regardless of whether they have provided written comments.
