2025 Voting Eligibility

NEW for 2025: Legislative changes in 2024 require municipalities to work with Elections Alberta to maintain a Permanent Electors Register. Registering early makes the voting process faster and easier, because you won’t have to register at the polling station on Election Day. Your privacy is important. VoterLink is a provincial registration system, and your information will be shared with your municipality for electoral purposes only.

The online registry is now closed. Voters who have not registered, or who need to update their information (including change of address), will need to register in person at the voting station before receiving a ballot.

Voter Identification Requirements

Proof of identity and current residence is required to be able to vote in municipal elections. You will be required to complete a Form 13 Elector Register, and provide a document that has your name and address on it to be accepted as valid proof. For a listing of documents that will be accepted as valid proof of identity and current residence, check out the Voter Identification Requirements.

Voters living in Penhold will vote for:

  • One (1) Mayor
  • One (1) Public School Board Trustee for Chinook's Edge School Division Ward 2 Penhold / Poplar Ridge
